This race will be even closer than the Derby. The speed and pace ratings indicate there is little to separate a large group of contenders from each other. The field is not quite as large as the Derby, but trip problems can still be a factor. We don't think CHARISMATIC will repeat, but he will be one of several within a few lengths and with a chance at the end. A slight edge on the numbers to MENIFEE but we expect EXCELLENT MEETING who has been consistent, should sit closer and finished well last time to prevail in a three or four horse photo over that one and CAT THIEF . The odds are important and CAT THIEF may be the overlay, holding the others off. Other longer price possibilities are KIMBERLITE PIPE who ran an excellent race with some difficulty last time, and WORLDLY MANNER who will either improve or drop off badly this time.
