This weekend we are launching our new Weekend Race Review. Its focus will be to try to isolate a few races of interest on the weekend card ... initially for the New York track we cover, and then to include the top California tracks. Our goal will be to point the weekend handicapper to races of interest to watch, both in terms of the quality of the races and to identify some possible surprise endings. While our speed ratings and selections are computer generated, this weekend column will try to add to that some expert analysis taking into account class, form analysis and other intangibles like trainer intentions.
Major Wager (6/5) is expected to be the favorite. We're not impressed with the listed workouts with this one off since January. So take a look at Shop Here (3-1) , A.P. Andie (6-1) , and a long shot chance for Grandma Lu (12-1) having worked well for this after coming up short last out.
This feature race is for 3YO&Up.; Our top three are Tubrok (4-1) as a slight preference thanks to a good looking workout over Ardaukur (9/2) who ran right with our top one on October 6th. Consistent and no surprise would b eDr. Kashnikow. Capsized (15-1) is our long shoice here.
